[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Two residents died after their house was buried in a landslide that occurred in Gyodong-ri, Beonam-myeon, Jangsu-gun, Jeonbuk.
According to the Fire Agency on the 8th, the bodies of A (59, male) and B (59, female) were found at the landslide accident site between 10:40 and 10:45 p.m. that day.
The fire authorities found them while conducting a search operation for buried victims using heavy equipment such as excavators at the scene.
They were confirmed to be a married couple living in the buried house. The fire authorities initially proceeded with the rescue operation considering the possibility that the couple's son was also present, but after confirming the son's survival, they concluded that there were no additional buried victims and ended the situation.
Earlier, the house was buried in a landslide caused by the monsoon rain around 4:42 p.m. that day, and the Jeonbuk Fire Headquarters mobilized nine heavy equipment vehicles to carry out the rescue operation.
