Seongbuk-gu Samseon-dong Public Parking Lot Groundbreaking Ceremony

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) held a groundbreaking ceremony at 2 p.m. on the 7th for the Samseon-dong 1-ga Public Parking Lot (278-5, 6 Samseon-dong 1-ga, Seongbuk-gu), attended by about 100 people including Mayor Lee Seung-ro, local district members of the National Assembly, city council members, district council members, construction officials, and residents.

The Samseon-dong 1-ga Public Parking Lot project is being implemented to supply a public parking lot to resolve safety issues of the existing flat parking lot and improve parking availability, thereby alleviating parking difficulties in residential areas, establishing parking order, and contributing to balanced regional development.

The Samseon-dong 1-ga Public Parking Lot will be a multi-level parking structure with two underground floors, two above-ground floors, and a rooftop level, providing a total of 133 parking spaces.

The project is scheduled to be completed around June next year after approximately 300 days of construction, starting with the groundbreaking ceremony on the 7th.

Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, stated, “Building a public parking lot in Samseon-dong, where parking spaces are insufficient, will greatly help resolve the severe parking difficulties in the alleyways,” and added, “By alleviating parking problems, we aim to improve residents’ quality of life and revitalize the historical and cultural area of Samseon-dong, thereby contributing to the activation of the local economy.”

Seongbuk-gu is making every effort to efficiently utilize parking spaces by spreading a culture of sharing, such as signing parking lot opening agreements to share idle parking spaces in private apartments and rental housing with nearby residents, in order to solve parking difficulties.
