[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Singer Migyo's agency has denied reports that she broke up with her composer boyfriend over money issues.
On the 7th, a representative from Migyo's agency told multiple media outlets, "It is true that Migyo and her boyfriend have broken up. However, we cannot disclose specific reasons. The claims about cohabitation or money problems are not true," adding, "We are preparing to sue those spreading false information for defamation."
Migyo's side stated, "Unverified stories have spread, putting both Migyo and her ex-boyfriend in a difficult situation," and emphasized, "They did not live together."
Earlier that day, a media outlet reported, citing multiple industry sources, that Migyo ended her relationship with her composer boyfriend of about one and a half years, attributing the breakup to financial issues.
The outlet claimed that the two had created a private home together somewhere in Seoul and lived as if they were an engaged couple, but Migyo became dissatisfied with her ex-boyfriend's financial capabilities, ultimately leading to the breakup.
Meanwhile, Migyo, who debuted in 2014, gained popularity by singing the female answer version of Yoon Jong-shin's hit song "Joanni."
