[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk Province announced on the 7th that it is accepting nominations for the ‘2020 Jeongeup Citizen Awards’ until the 31st of this month.
Jeongeup City plans to select citizens and expatriates who have promoted the city’s honor both domestically and internationally and have dedicated themselves to the development of city administration through exceptional passion and effort as recipients of the Jeongeup Citizen Awards.
The award categories include ▲Culture Award ▲Saemaeul Award ▲Industry Award ▲Public Service Award ▲Sports Award ▲Patriotism Award ▲Filial Piety Award ▲Honorary Citizen Award, totaling eight categories, and winners will be honored at the upcoming ‘Jeongeup Citizen Day’ ceremony through a selection process.
Nominees must have made significant contributions to the development of city administration and have resided in Jeongeup with an address for at least three years as of the nomination date.
However, the Patriotism Award and Honorary Citizen Award are exempt from the residency requirement.
Eligible nominators include heads of institutions at the city level, heads of social organizations in the relevant fields, heads of eup, myeon, and dong administrative offices, school principals, company representatives, and heads of hometown associations and village offices.
Nominations can be submitted at the City Hall General Affairs Division, the respective eup and myeon offices, or the dong community centers.
A Jeongeup City official stated, “We will conduct thorough on-site fact investigations of the nominees and select winners for each category through a strict review by the Jeongeup Citizen Awards judging committee.”
