[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] On the 7th, Kim Du-gwan, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, demanded that Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae "prepare a resolution to dismiss Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol and hold a disciplinary committee meeting."
Kim posted on Facebook that day, saying, "Prosecutor General Yoon's speech was essentially a political declaration of candidacy. Leaving someone who intends to engage in politics in the position of Prosecutor General is the National Assembly neglecting its role."
Kim said, "Although politically independent, the politically biased prosecution under Yoon Seok-yeol needs reform at the level of dismantlement, and the first step should be to push for Yoon's dismissal. It is right to let him go to pursue politics as he wishes."
He continued, "The reasons for dismissing Prosecutor General Yoon are very clear. He attacked the government elected by the people as dictatorship and totalitarianism," emphasizing, "Over the past year, he has abandoned political neutrality and his political bias is unprecedented."
He added, "We cannot allow the atrocities that used all kinds of vile means to drive a former president to death, under the pretext of pursuing prosecution reform, to continue," stating, "This is the command of the people who held candles in the harsh winter."
Kim said, "We cannot leave the political prosecution that blatantly claimed to be the protector of a specific political force as is," and "We must complete prosecution reform aiming for a people's prosecution and fair prosecution."
