[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Fish Cake Museum has opened inside the fish cake store. ‘Samjin Eomuk Yeongdo Main Branch,’ a local fish cake company in the Busan area with a 67-year history, reopened after renovation and opened on the 7th.

Samjin Eomuk Yeongdo Main Branch has newly established a history hall where visitors can see the history of Samjin Eomuk, which started in 1953, at a glance, along with the product store.

It has been newly remodeled with a differentiated space concept of ‘Market & Museum’ from the existing fish cake store to welcome shoppers.

Samjin Eomuk set the future store type it aims for as a ‘Market’ and was reborn not as a simple ‘Market’ that sells fish cakes, but as an ‘Experiential Market’ that provides special enjoyment and leisure.

This Market & Museum was designed to efficiently utilize the total area of 367㎡ (111 pyeong), including expanding the product display and history hall space more than twice compared to before.

In the ‘Market,’ old-fashioned fish cakes that evoke nostalgia, existing products, and newly introduced products are displayed by category.

The newly introduced product categories consist of ▲Premium Roasted, ▲When You’re Hungry, Snack Fish Cakes, and ▲Come Eat at Yeongdo Haenyeo Village (Local Theme Food).

‘Premium Roasted’ consists of products that are grilled without frying. Because they are not fried, they have a light taste and are popular as diet foods.

‘When You’re Hungry, Snack Fish Cakes’ consists of snack-type products that can satisfy hunger. They include ‘One-bite Thick Fish Cake Balls’ filled with cream cheese and potato filling, as well as vegetables such as pumpkin, spinach, and lotus root.

‘Come Eat at Yeongdo Haenyeo Village’ consists of products containing seafood from Yeongdo with a rich savory flavor. Reflecting the characteristics of the Yeongdo sea, products such as ‘Yeongdo Haenyeo Village Butter Fish Cake’ and ‘Yeongdo Haenyeo Village Bongrae Jeon’ use seafood like shrimp and horned turban shells.

A Samjin Eomuk official said, “The museum is composed of content that allows visitors to feel the history of fish cakes and the nostalgia of the times while shopping,” adding, “Since Samjin Eomuk is the oldest existing fish cake manufacturing plant, the ‘Museum’ offers special value and experience.”
