[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] Dongbu Construction has won the contract for the construction of a general hospital in Gwangandong, Busan. The contract amount is approximately 52.7 billion KRW.
According to Dongbu Construction on the 7th, the hospital will be built on a site of about 2,277㎡ in the area of 1072-1 and 1072-8, Gwangandong, Suyeong-gu, Busan, with 5 basement floors and 14 above-ground floors. It will have 294 general wards and 15 intensive care units.
Since the 1980s, Dongbu Construction has experience constructing a total of 10,000 hospital beds across 25 general hospitals, including military hospitals in Saudi Arabia, international airport hospitals, national police hospitals, military capital hospitals, Chonnam National University Hospital, Gangdong Sacred Heart Hospital, and Changwon Gyeongsang National University Hospital. This year, it was also selected as the preferred negotiator for the reconstruction project of Samcheok Medical Center in Gangwon.
The client is KM Med Co., Ltd., and the construction period is about 28 months from the start date. Construction will begin next month.
The hospital, scheduled to be completed in 2023, is located right in front of Suyeong Station on Busan Subway Lines 2 and 3. It is expected to have high demand for medical visits due to the surrounding large apartment complexes and bustling commercial facilities.
A Dongbu Construction official emphasized, "Based on our extensive experience in hospital facility construction, we will do our best to create a safe hospital that Busan citizens can use with confidence."
