Kimhae City Deputy Mayor Kang Deok-chul: "We Will Establish a Horizontal Cooperative Relationship with Kimhae Light Rail Transit"

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] On the 6th, Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced that Vice Mayor Kang Deok-chul visited the Busan-Gimhae Light Rail Transit (LRT) vehicle depot located in Samgye-dong.

Vice Mayor Kang, who took office on the 1st of last month, conducted an on-site inspection to check the response system for passenger safety transportation of the Busan-Gimhae LRT amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and the onset of the intense heatwave, as well as to understand current issues.

He visited the vehicle depot inspection garage and the integrated control room to conduct ▲ COVID-19 vehicle disinfection inspection ▲ observation of mid-level maintenance inspections for electric train maintenance and repair ▲ real-time situation and crisis response manual checks at the integrated control room.

Additionally, he held discussions with Busan-Gimhae LRT officials to enhance the value of the eco-friendly transportation system and to discuss ways to proactively respond to future changes in transportation demand.

Vice Mayor Kang stated, "Safe operation of the LRT begins with the safety of the workers, so I urge maintaining a work environment that follows heatwave response guidelines. Going forward, Gimhae City and the Busan-Gimhae LRT will establish a horizontal cooperative relationship and strive for the convenience of citizens."
