[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam, has unveiled a blueprint by establishing a basic plan for hosting the ‘2023 Sancheong World Traditional Medicine Expo.’

Sancheong-gun announced on the 6th that it held the final report meeting for the ‘2023 Sancheong World Traditional Medicine Expo Basic Plan and Feasibility Study’ research project at the Donguibogam Village Expo Theme Pavilion.

At the meeting, the basic plan was proposed, reflecting various opinions presented at the interim report meeting last month, including the vision and goals for hosting the expo, venue development plans, and programs.

According to the final report, the ‘2023 Sancheong Expo’ will be held under the theme ‘Promise of the Future, Traditional Medicine in the World’ from September 15 to October 19, 2023, for 35 days at Donguibogam Village and the festival plaza near Sancheong IC.

Additionally, the plan is to promote it as a global wellness project that expands Sancheong’s Donguibogam Village and Jirisan’s herbal medicine infrastructure worldwide, fostering the globalization of the traditional herbal anti-aging industry throughout Gyeongnam.

A county official stated, “Based on the final report reflecting the opinions presented at the meeting, we plan to prepare an international event hosting plan. Afterwards, together with Gyeongnam Province, we will submit it to the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the competent ministry, and then to the Ministry of Economy and Finance to obtain approval for the international event.”

Currently, Donguibogam Village has established itself as a leading domestic anti-aging wellness tourist destination, attracting about one million visitors annually.
