Operating a Total of 12 Humanities Lectures for Middle-Aged Residents Through November
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Moon In) announced on the 6th that it has been selected in a contest hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and will operate the ‘2020 Library Wisdom School’ lectures until November.
This contest was prepared to connect local universities and libraries to spread the social meaning and value of humanities and to create a wise aging model for the new middle-aged preparing for their second act of life.
Accordingly, Buk-gu will conduct a total of 12 humanities lectures for local residents classified as new middle-aged from the 25th until November at the auditorium on the first floor of Ilgok Library.
Professor Lee Sang-hoon from Chonnam National University will participate as the lecturer, and under the theme ‘Life Wisdom Learned from Art and Film,’ participants will watch 12 films dealing with the lives and works of artists and have time to understand the relationship between art and humans through lectures and discussions.
Residents who wish to participate can apply through the Gwangju Metropolitan City Buk-gu Integrated Library website by the 23rd, and for more details, inquiries can be made to the Buk-gu Office Library Division.
Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, “Since this lecture is specially prepared for the new middle-aged generation, we hope many residents interested in film, culture, and art will participate.”
