[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Sudden heavy rain is expected tonight, mainly in the central and Jeolla regions.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 5th, from tonight, the central and Honam areas are expected to experience very heavy rain of 50 to 100mm per hour along with strong winds.
Currently, strong wind advisory warnings are in effect across various parts of the country, and especially in the central region, a continuous heavy rain warning has been issued.
On Thursday the 6th, heavy rain will continue mainly in the central region until daytime, and the southern region will again fall under the influence of the monsoon.
Expected precipitation amounts are 100 to 200mm (with some areas exceeding 300mm) in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Gangwon Yeongseo, and Chungcheong-do; 50 to 100mm (with some areas exceeding 150mm) in Gangwon Yeongdong and the southern regions; and 30 to 80mm in Jeju Island, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo.
Sea waves will be 1.5 to 3.5 meters in the East Sea coastal waters, 0.5 to 3 meters in the West Sea coastal waters, and 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the South Sea coastal waters. Offshore wave heights are expected to be 2 to 5 meters in the East Sea, 1 to 5 meters in the West Sea, and 1.5 to 4 meters in the South Sea.
A storm warning has been issued for all seas around Jeju Island (except the northern coastal waters), the offshore West Sea, and the western offshore South Sea.
The morning low temperature is forecast to be between 23 and 27 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high temperature between 26 and 30 degrees Celsius.
