Kakao Absorbs Kakao IX License Business Division Through Merger

[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Kakao announced on the 5th that it has decided to absorb and merge the licensing business division of its subsidiary Kakao IX. The purpose is to enhance the value of Kakao's intellectual property (IP) assets and diversify Kakao community IP business through systematic trademark management.

The merger ratio is 1:0. Kakao explained, "Since Kakao already owns 100% of Kakao IX's shares and the merger will be conducted without issuing new shares, this ratio was determined."
