[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Bae Jun-young, spokesperson for the United Future Party, criticized the government's real estate measures on the 5th, saying, "Considering that it takes a considerable amount of time until actual occupancy, supply will be made by 2023," and added, "There is no concrete timetable. In short, it is too late and not trustworthy."

On the same day, on YTN Radio's 'Start New Morning,' Spokesperson Bae said, "I see this as hasty," and added, "Some suspect it is a form of false hope aimed at dragging it out until next year's local elections."

Regarding Kim Jin-ae, floor leader of the Open Democratic Party's remark, '"Even if real estate prices rise, it is not a problem. Just pay your taxes diligently,"' he said, "I think it is a somewhat irresponsible statement," and pointed out, "It seems to disregard the reality that taxes ultimately get passed on to the vulnerable."

He continued, "If we had sufficiently discussed (real estate legislation) through the standing committee, we would have enacted alternative legislation to prevent such side effects," adding, "It is truly regrettable."

Regarding the high support for Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl in the next presidential candidate preference, Spokesperson Bae stated, "Voters may evaluate (Prosecutor General Yoon) as a potential presidential candidate," and added, "However, more than that, I believe it reflects the public's strong desire for Yoon to investigate power-related corruption without hesitation."

Spokesperson Bae said, "I think it also sends a message that the opposition party needs to quickly cultivate a leading candidate for regime change," and added, "Regime change must happen in March 2022, and a presidential candidate is needed. We must keep all possibilities open and search for candidates."
