Cellreturn's LED Mask Research Published in SCIE-Level Journal

[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Beauty and healthcare specialist Cellreturn announced on the 5th that its research results on the 'skin improvement effects and safety of LED masks' have been published in the SCIE-level international journal, the European Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology.

The European Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology (JCD) is a prestigious international journal indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE). This study was jointly conducted by Professor Kwangho Yoo of the Dermatology Department at Chung-Ang University Hospital, P&K Skin Clinical Research Center, and Cellreturn's Technology Development Headquarters.

The research team divided 44 adult women aged 30 to 59 into two groups and instructed them to use the Cellreturn LED mask once daily for four weeks. To study the skin improvement effects of the LED mask, one group used only a hyaluronic acid ampoule, while the other group used both the hyaluronic acid ampoule and the LED mask in red mode, and the results were compared and analyzed.

The group that used both the ampoule and the LED mask for four weeks showed skin improvement effects approximately 2 to 3 times better in areas such as skin density, pores, and keratin compared to the group that used only the ampoule. The researchers confirmed statistically significant differences between the two groups, demonstrating that the use of the LED mask is effective for skin beauty.

The 'Cellreturn LED Mask Platinum' used as the sample in this study is a skin beauty device based on the principle of low-level light therapy (LLLT), which penetrates the skin with low-intensity light energy to induce bioactivation. Because LEDs use low energy, they are safer and have fewer side effects compared to lasers, making them widely used in home care beauty devices.

A Cellreturn representative said, “This is the first domestic LED mask to be registered in an SCIE-level international journal, recognizing the positive effects of the product and expected to broaden the foundation for research on LED-utilized beauty technology. We will continue to strengthen our in-house research and development capabilities and collaborate with external experts to globally prove Cellreturn’s competitiveness.”
