Gwangjin-gu Offers 'Social Economy Online Lectures' for Middle and High School Students

Recruitment for Schools Enrolling Until the 14th... Enhancing Understanding and Awareness of Social Economy, Usually Perceived as Difficult

Gwangjin-gu Offers 'Social Economy Online Lectures' for Middle and High School Students Social Economy Education on the Go held at Daewon Girls' High School last July

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is operating an 'Online Social Economy Lecture' for middle and high school students in the area.

This lecture is designed to enhance understanding and positive perception of the social economy, and due to difficulties in face-to-face classes caused by the spread of COVID-19, it is produced as an online lecture available for continuous learning.

The lecture is conducted under the theme "Understanding Social Economy through Cooperatives," covering the concept and history of cooperatives, various business cases in the social economy sector, and examples of school cooperatives run directly by high school students.

Additionally, to improve students' comprehension step-by-step, the lecture is divided into a 25-minute version for middle school students and a 30-minute version for high school students.

Schools wishing to take the lecture can apply by emailing the Gwangjin-gu Office Job Policy Division by the 14th, and the lecture will be available from September this year until December next year.

In particular, this lecture will be provided to students through the educational platform 'EBS Online Class,' which allows classes to learn and manage online by class.

Students can take the lecture after joining the online class and receiving approval from their teacher.

Mayor Kim Seon-gap said, "The concept of social economy may be unfamiliar to students, but it contains values we should pursue in the future," and added, "I hope that through this lecture, students will learn about the social economy and establish a proper people-centered economic value system."
