[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Bong-ju] A man in his 40s who killed a neighbor while intoxicated in Chungju was arrested by the police.
On the 4th, the Chungju Police Station announced that they had detained A (48) on charges of murder.
According to the police, A is accused of stabbing B (39, female) with a weapon at his apartment in Yeonsu-dong, Chungju City, around 12:40 PM the previous day.
A reportedly surrendered to the police after the crime.
At the time of arrest, A was intoxicated, while B was said not to have been drinking.
A stated that he committed the act in a fit of anger after an argument with B.
The police plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident and forward the case to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment.
