Professor Son Hong-moon of Chosun University Hospital Awarded 'Outstanding Paper Award' by the Korean Spinal Surgery Society

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Professor Son Hong-moon of the Spine Center at Chosun University Hospital received the Excellent Basic Research Paper Award at the '2020 Korean Spinal Surgery Society International Academic Conference.'


According to Chosun University Hospital on the 4th, Professor Son was recognized for his contribution to the treatment of spinal cord injury (paralysis of upper and lower limbs) patients with the topic "Microelectric Treatment by Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation in a Rat Model of Acute Spinal Cord Injury" in the spinal cord injury white paper.


Professor Son has actively participated in the domestic and international spine field as a full member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the Pacific-Asia Society of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (PASMISS), along with overseas training in the spine field at the University of British Columbia in Canada, the University of Washington in the United States, and Tohoku University in Japan.


Meanwhile, the Korean Spinal Surgery Society was established in 1984 with the purpose of academic and clinical development in the spinal field, and has grown into the society with the longest history in Korea's spinal-related fields, with over 1,000 members active to date.
