[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] Hyundai Investment Asset Management announced on the 4th that the 1-year return of the 'KOSDAQ Focus Securities Investment Trust No.1' reached 40.27%. This is higher than the KOSDAQ Index return of 10.9% during the same period.
This fund also recorded excellent performance with returns of 36.8% and 31.8% over the recent 3-month and 6-month periods following the COVID-19 pandemic. The KOSDAQ Focus Equity Fund primarily invests in growth stocks.
Kim Deok-gi, fund manager at Hyundai Investment Management, said, “Growth stock investment focuses more on future growth potential than current value, so an active preemptive investment strategy of purchasing good companies within growing industries at low prices is important.” He added, “After the sharp decline during the COVID-19 period, expanding investments in fundamentally strong stocks within growth sectors rather than indiscriminately investing in theme stocks during the early rebound phase was effective.”
The KOSDAQ market is expected to see further expansion of investor sentiment if the Korean New Deal policy announced last July, aimed at promoting corporate investment and revitalizing financial markets, is implemented with private sector participation and activation of ventures and startups.
Going forward, the company plans to launch new funds focusing on an index fund strategy that can pursue stable long-term returns, with KOSDAQ stocks expected to benefit from policies as a satellite strategy.
The ‘KOSDAQ Focus Equity Fund’ does not charge redemption fees. When subscribing through Type A, a front-end sales fee of up to 1.0% and an annual management fee of 1.345% apply, while Type C has no front-end sales fee but charges an annual management fee of 1.745%.
