[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] The Gimhae City Volunteer Center in Gyeongnam, together with the Korea Gas Technology Corporation Busan-Gyeongnam Branch, produced and delivered 130 COVID-19 infection prevention safety kits on the 4th for elderly participants in senior job programs.
The COVID-19 infection prevention safety kits consisted of hand sanitizing wet wipes, mask loss prevention necklaces, cloth masks, and filters.
Lee Sang-hoon, the branch manager, stated, “Elderly participants in senior job programs who face economic difficulties may experience greater hardships when diseases occur,” adding, “As COVID-19 continues to sporadically occur these days, we made the kits with the hope that the elderly can participate safely.”
The kits produced that day were delivered by the Gimhae Gaya Senior Club to elderly participants in senior job programs, including school meal helpers.
Park Jong-joo, the center director, said, “We are grateful to the Korea Gas Technology Corporation for their great support in ensuring the safety of elderly participants in senior job programs,” and added, “The kits have helped ensure the safety of elderly participants. The Volunteer Center will also actively strive to protect citizens’ safety from COVID-19.”
Meanwhile, the center and the Korea Gas Technology Corporation Busan-Gyeongnam Branch plan to carry out a cooling supplies support project this month to assist low-income households and elderly people with physical difficulties in preparation for the summer heatwave.
