Yangcheon-gu, Youth Hope Job Applications Open

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) is promoting the "Youth Hope Job Project" to alleviate the employment burden on young people and revitalize the stagnant local economy as the employment shock caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic becomes a reality.

In this Youth Hope Job Project, 48 vulnerable young people in Yangcheon-gu who need livelihood support due to COVID-19 will be selected. They will be deployed to a total of 36 projects, including local quarantine activities, assistance in operating libraries and welfare centers, and support personnel for startup-related counseling, with the project scheduled to run from September 1 to December 14.

Applicants must be residents of Yangcheon-gu aged between 18 and 39 with the ability to work as of the project start date, and must not fall under any of the exclusion criteria below.

Excluded from this project are university and graduate students (excluding those on leave of absence), those participating in other government-supported job projects, and in the case of child and youth-related projects, those with criminal records as defined by relevant laws.

Applicants can check the application documents and project list on the Yangcheon-gu Office website under Notices or Announcements, and must submit their documents to the Youth Policy Team of the Job and Economy Division at Yangcheon-gu Office by 6 p.m. on August 14.

Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, stated, "These days, the term 'employment barley hump' is used to describe the difficulties young people face in finding jobs due to COVID-19. Young people, regardless of country, are the most dynamic age group with a spirit of challenge that breathes life into society." He added, "I hope this Youth Hope Job Project can provide some support to young people, and we will strive to actively discover good policies that encourage youth challenges in the future."
