Operation of Customized Experience Programs Including Online and Individual Activities from August to December... Discovery of Online Programs and Experience Sites through the 'Hakbumo Jinro Education Support Group'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yuseong Hoon) will operate customized career experience programs for each school from August to December.
The career experience programs include ▲Happy Career Experience in School ▲Makers Career Experience ▲Leadership Program ▲Online On-site Job Experience Program ▲Who Look Job Career Cafe ▲Eco Bag Making, among others.
The programs will be conducted in a customized manner according to each school's circumstances, such as online methods and individual activities, to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Notably, the ‘2020 Happy Career Experience in School’ offers local middle school students the opportunity to experience 19 job categories including VR experts, aerospace engineers, CSI forensic investigators, and software developers.
A total of 59 sessions will be held both online and offline until December.
The ‘Makers Career Experience’ program, targeting middle school students, involves creating VR, holograms, mood lamps, etc. It will be held at Siheung Middle School and Gasan Middle School in September; Munseong Middle School, Munil Middle School, Dongil Middle School, and Ancheon Middle School in October; and Hanul Middle School in November.
In August, the Leadership Program, which teaches entrepreneurial spirit and leadership through one-person startups, will be held at Dongil Girls' High School and Doksan High School. The program focuses on creativity enhancement courses such as ‘Future Society and Entrepreneurship,’ ‘Market Analysis and Business Plan Writing,’ and ‘Promotion and Marketing Strategies’ to cultivate CEO qualities.
At the end of the program, a ‘Startup Idea Presentation’ session is arranged to share growth points and regrets experienced during the classes.
At the ‘Who Look Job Career Cafe,’ selected job groups that are of high interest to youth allow direct communication with job mentors and hands-on experience related to those jobs.
For about 50 middle and high school applicants, on the 10th from 2 PM to 4 PM at ‘Everyone’s School,’ five job experience programs will be operated: ▲Sugar Craft ▲Social Welfare ▲YouTube Creator ▲Marketing ▲Makeup Artist.
Additionally, in August, a video on the theme of ‘Geumcheon-gu Council’s Legislative Activities’ will be produced and provided to schools where external on-site job experiences are difficult.
Furthermore, on the 7th, an ‘Eco Bag Making’ class will be held for 2nd and 3rd grade students of Munseong Middle School to practice environmental protection in daily life. Students will watch the video online at home without attending school, make eco bags, and post their handmade results in comments to receive class credit in this specialized course.
In preparation for the prolonged COVID-19 situation, the district operates a ‘Parent Career Education Support Group’ consisting of five parent committee members to discover online programs and improve program quality through prior verification, actively seeking experience sites.
Mayor Yuseong Hoon said, “Through active cooperation with the education office and local schools, we will operate various career programs and do our best to support local youth so they can fully realize their dreams.”
Inquiries can be made to the Geumcheon-gu Office Education Support Division.
