Implementation of Advance Reservation System at Jamsil Bicycle Repair Center in Songpa-gu

Increase in Bicycle Users Amid Prolonged COVID-19... Repair Service, Previously Suspended, Now Limited to 50 Reservations Per Day

Implementation of Advance Reservation System at Jamsil Bicycle Repair Center in Songpa-gu

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is changing the operation of Jamsil Bicycle Repair Center (Center), which was temporarily suspended due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), to a reservation system.

The district reported that although bicycle usage among residents has recently increased due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the suspension of the center's operation caused inconvenience to residents as they could not even receive simple repairs such as tire puncture fixes.

After careful consideration of the operation method, the reservation system was implemented to disperse visitors, minimize contact between residents, and reduce waiting times.

The Jamsil Bicycle Repair Center reservation system limits the number of people to 50 per day. Considering the COVID-19 situation, the operation will be flexible, so residents who wish to make a reservation must contact the Songpa-gu Office Transportation Division by phone before registering their reservation.

After operating for 10 days since the 22nd, the district reported positive responses from residents and recommended making reservations 2 to 3 days in advance of the intended visit date.

Residents visiting the center after making a reservation must wear masks and use hand sanitizer upon entry, and strictly follow quarantine rules such as maintaining a distance of at least 2 meters while waiting for repairs.

Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, "For the past 22 years, the Jamsil Bicycle Repair Center has greatly helped residents' mobility by providing various services," and added, "Although the operation was suspended causing much inconvenience, we will strive to enable residents to use bicycles more safely amid the COVID-19 situation through the implementation of this reservation system."
