[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jeong-ho] National Intangible Cultural Heritage holder Park Aeri and performing artist Poppin Hyun-jun showed opposing views regarding their niece's curfew.
On the episode of KBS's "Men Who Do Housework 2" (hereafter "Househusbands 2") aired on the 1st, Park Aeri was seen waiting for her niece late into the night.
That day, the niece, Minha, only came home at midnight.
Regarding this, Park Aeri said, "It's almost midnight," giving her niece a slight glare. Then she softened, saying, "Aren't you hungry? Shall I make you scorched rice soup?"
Poppin Hyun-jun asked Park Aeri, who came into the master bedroom late, "What were you doing coming in so late?" Park Aeri replied, "When I come home after my performances past midnight, I don't think it's late. But waiting made me worried."
Poppin Hyun-jun said, "What, is she a middle schooler? She's an adult, so she'll manage on her own," adding, "If she's in Seoul, she should be meeting friends too." To this, Park Aeri expressed concern, saying, "Today, it looked like her clothes were short." Poppin Hyun-jun defended Minha, saying, "For Minha, that's pretty good."
In an interview with the production team, Park Aeri revealed her true feelings, saying, "From what I saw, her clothes were too short," and added, "I was worried, thinking 'Isn't it dangerous to walk at night?'"
The next day, Park Aeri's niece Minha prepared for Park Aeri's performance. Park Aeri was surprised by Minha's short pants and nagged, "Put on one more piece of clothing." Minha surprised Park Aeri by wearing a thin white T-shirt underneath as well.
In the interview, Park Aeri explained the reason for criticizing her niece's outfit, saying, "Today, the place I had to accompany my niece was a gathering with elderly teachers, so I thought it would be better if she dressed modestly."
Meanwhile, "Men Who Do Housework 2" airs every Saturday at 9:15 PM.
