[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On the 1st, the United Future Party criticized, "The public is not really interested in whether high-ranking officials of the Moon Jae-in administration own multiple homes," adding, "Whether they sell or not does not help the market or the homeless at all."

In a statement that day, United Future Party spokesperson Bae Jun-young said, "Failure cannot be compensated by showmanship. Just because a high-ranking official sells a house does not mean people will get their own homes. Jeonse and monthly rent prices do not go down," and asked, "Is it really that difficult to find alternatives that housing consumers can empathize with and follow?"

He pointed out, "The important thing is reality," and criticized, "The government and ruling party deliberately ignore the reality that the hastily legislated Lease Protection Act, passed in the National Assembly like a military operation, is actually squeezing tenants."

He continued, "The government and ruling party pushed the legislation without any linked measures for the aftershocks of the disappearance of Jeonse, the shift to monthly rent, and the surge in Jeonse prices for new tenants," adding, "The standing committee and plenary session were just the ruling party's caucus meeting for legislation commissioned by the Blue House."

Spokesperson Bae said, "In the end, it has caused irreparable wounds to the people suffering from housing problems," calling it "abuse of power."
