Busan Gijang-gun Jeonggwan-eup, Volunteer Cleaning Service for 'Case Management Subjects' Homes
Employees of the Administrative Welfare Center in Jeonggwan-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan, along with volunteer helpers, are conducting a thorough cleaning volunteer activity at the home of an elderly person suffering from dementia.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Administrative Welfare Center of Jeonggwan-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan, conducted a volunteer activity on July 28 to clean up trash left in the rooms and living room of an elderly person suffering from dementia.
The elderly person with dementia is a case management subject requiring continuous protective services. On that day, 15 center staff and volunteers spent three hours collecting trash scattered throughout the elderly person's home and performed a thorough cleaning.
The elderly person was living alone with the care of a nursing caregiver due to severe dementia symptoms. The Jeonggwan-eup Customized Welfare Team continuously monitors and manages the case to resolve difficulties in the subject's daily life.
The amount of trash collected that day filled 150 large sacks. Four 1-ton trucks came and went. The Jeonggwan-eup Residents' Autonomy Committee, Red Cross Jeonggwan-eup Branch, Gijang-gun Saemaeul Association, Jeonggwan-eup Volunteer Fire Brigade, Gijang-gun Volunteer Center, and individual volunteers also participated and worked hard.
An official from Jeonggwan-eup said, “We are grateful to the volunteers who helped neighbors living in poor housing conditions to live safely.”
