At the Line 2 Phase 1 Section 4 construction site, the mayor received a report on the construction status from the Urban Railway Construction Headquarters, then checked the readiness and operation status of flood control materials at the construction site, established an emergency contact network system to respond immediately to safety accidents, reinforced temporary facilities in cut sections, and inspected safety measures to prevent flooding.

The Urban Railway Construction Headquarters has strengthened patrol activities at the construction site and established an emergency contact system to prepare for sudden heavy rain during the monsoon season, and is fully prepared to promptly take action and report safety accidents when weather warnings are issued.

Next, the mayor visited the Jungheung 3 District redevelopment maintenance project site, which suffered damage due to the heavy rain, listened to the difficulties of citizens, and began preparing countermeasures.

This area experiences significant inconvenience to residents, such as flooding of roads around the construction site due to overflow of drainage pipes during heavy rain.

The mayor received reports from the construction company on the causes of the damage and the current situation and instructed them to come up with fundamental countermeasures.

The mayor said, “Regardless of the reason, I apologize to the residents for the damage that occurred after the construction started,” and emphasized, “We will establish fundamental measures to prevent damage to residents even if more than 100mm of rain falls.”

He added, “The most important thing during the monsoon season is citizen safety. Please identify and thoroughly prepare for expected problems such as flooding and ground collapse in advance to respond so that there is no damage to property or loss of life.”
