[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Jangheung Office of Education recently announced on the 29th that it conducted the first half Wee Class consulting for school officials and professional counselors at Daedeok Elementary School Wee Class.

This consulting was conducted as a customized mentoring program by appointing a life rights supervisor, experienced school administrators from other schools in the district, and fellow professional counselors.

Jeong So-young, a professional counselor at Daedeok Elementary School who participated in the consulting, said, “As a single counselor working at an individual school, judgment and intervention are inevitably limited, but this consulting provided a valuable opportunity to explore reasonable solutions with a broader perspective.”

Jangheung Office of Education plans to continue consulting until September on ways to enhance the professionalism of school counseling, including know-how on operating counseling programs, strategies for supporting students in crisis, and linkage plans with school administrators and homeroom teachers in the second half of the year.

Superintendent Wang Myeong-seok said, “Through a series of processes to analyze current issues of the Wee Class, identify problems, and devise countermeasures, we will do our best to ensure that students in the Jangheung area can enjoy their school life.”
