[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] KTB Investment & Securities analyzed on the 29th that HanmiGlobal is the biggest beneficiary of the Korean New Deal and U.S. infrastructure investment. No investment opinion or target price was presented.
HanmiGlobal is a construction project management (PM·CM) specialized company. Unlike traditional supervision limited to the construction phase, HanmiGlobal's CM business takes responsibility from project planning and design to ordering, construction, and maintenance, providing these services to the client.
Jae-yoon Kim, a researcher at KTB Investment & Securities, said, "HanmiGlobal, as the largest CM company in Korea, is expected to be the biggest beneficiary of the Korean New Deal projects, which focus on the Digital New Deal and Green New Deal." He added, "In the Digital New Deal, centered on large-scale ICT infrastructure construction, and the Green New Deal, focused on renewable energy supply, the company's orders for data centers, wind power, and solar power are expected to surge."
He stated, "HanmiGlobal secured a 100MW offshore wind power project at Saemangeum on the 13th, and since the total scale of the project is 2.6GW, continuous orders from this site are expected." He emphasized, "Following the 2019 Jeju Hallim offshore wind power order, HanmiGlobal's success in securing the Saemangeum offshore wind power project establishes it as the main CM company in the offshore wind power market."
He also expected that the increase in online distribution and contactless consumption in the post-COVID-19 era would act as a benefit. The growth in demand for logistics centers and data centers by companies is expected to lead to increased orders for HanmiGlobal, the number one CM company in these fields.
KTB also anticipated that HanmiGlobal would benefit from U.S. infrastructure investment. Researcher Kim said, "OTAK, a subsidiary in the U.S., is expected to benefit from the U.S. economic stimulus infrastructure investment after COVID-19," emphasizing, "The differing infrastructure investment strategies of Trump and Biden will both act as benefits to OTAK, a specialized infrastructure CM company."
