[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] On the 28th, President Moon Jae-in attended the signing ceremony of the tripartite agreement held without the participation of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) and urged overcoming the 'COVID-19' crisis through social grand compromise.
The Economic, Social and Labor Council (ESLC) held its 8th plenary session at a conference room in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and signed a tripartite agreement to overcome the COVID-19 crisis. This was President Moon's first visit to the ESLC.
President Moon said, "Today's signing of the tripartite agreement is a precious result achieved by economic actors each making concessions to overcome the economic crisis caused by COVID-19," adding, "Although it is regrettable that the KCTU did not participate, it is a very meaningful achievement." Regarding this, a Blue House official said, "The ESLC participants plan to form a special committee soon to ensure the implementation of the agreed contents."
