[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] A vacationer was booked for the first time for not wearing a mask at a beach.
According to a YTN report on the 27th, Busan Haeundae-gu filed a complaint against a man in his 60s, Mr. A, who was not wearing a mask at Haeundae Beach.
The police discovered Mr. A not wearing a mask at Haeundae Beach on the night of the 25th and issued a first warning, but he refused to comply, resulting in the issuance of a citation. He continued to obstruct enforcement by using abusive language and refusing to wear a mask, leading to the complaint.
Mr. A may face a fine of up to 3 million won under the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.
Meanwhile, Haeundae Beach has mandated mask-wearing and banned nighttime food consumption since the 25th as part of COVID-19 prevention measures.
