iPhone 12 and Apple Watch 6 Expected to Be Unveiled
Mac and iPad Pro to Be Revealed at Follow-up Event on October 27
Will Wireless Charging Pad 'AirPower' Make an Appearance?
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Apple will unveil four models of the iPhone 12 series, Apple Watch 6, iPad, and other new products on September 8. Attention is also focused on the lineup of new products set to compete against Samsung's 'Galaxy 5 siblings' including the Galaxy Z Fold2 and Galaxy Note20, which were revealed at the Galaxy Unpacked event.
According to IT specialist media AppleInsider on the 26th (local time), Apple will reveal the iPhone 12, iPad, and Apple Watch 6 at the event on September 8, and will showcase the iPad Pro, Apple Silicon Macs, and more at a follow-up event on October 27. IT tipster Komiya explained on Twitter that "Apple will upload iMac, AirPods Studio, HomePod mini, and other products to the Apple website around August 19."
The iPhone 12 series will be Apple's first 5G iPhones, released in a total of four models. They range from a 5.4-inch iPhone, which will continue the lineage of the iPhone SE, to the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Plus, 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro, and 6.8-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. All models are expected to feature OLED displays and support 5G.
The Pro and higher models will be equipped with triple cameras and 6GB of RAM, while the two lower models will support 4GB of RAM. The two lower models will be made of aluminum, while the Pro and Max models will be constructed from stainless steel. Prices are expected to be $649 (approximately 780,000 KRW) for the 5.4-inch model, $749 (about 900,000 KRW) for the 6.1-inch model, $999 (about 1,200,000 KRW) for the iPhone 12 Pro, and $1,099 (about 1,320,000 KRW) for the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

There are also expectations that the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max models will offer reverse wireless charging (battery sharing) capabilities, allowing accessories such as AirPods and Apple Watch to be charged via the iPhone. This feature was first introduced in last year's Galaxy S10. For the Apple Watch 6, waterproofing capabilities are expected to improve, and battery capacity will likely increase to support added sleep tracking features.
There is also speculation that Apple's augmented reality device, 'Apple Glass,' may be unveiled alongside these products. Ming-Chi Kuo has predicted that the first version will be released in the second half of this year. The price is expected to be $499, and it is designed as an accessory that works in conjunction with a smartphone.
Regarding the release schedule for 'AirPower,' tipsters have differing opinions. IT tipster iHacktu Pro predicts it will appear on September 8, while Komiya expects the AirPower lineup to be revealed at the special event on October 27. AirPower is a wireless charging pad capable of charging iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods, and more. Its release was delayed due to overheating issues, but IT tipster Jon Prosser has raised expectations by revealing that "a new prototype equipped with the A11 chip is being tested."
