Dongwon F&B Launches Four 'NutriPlan Health Project' Products Featuring Webtoon 'Ppozatoon' Characters

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] Dongwon F&B's pet food specialist brand Nutri Plan announced on the 27th that it has collaborated with Daum Webtoon to launch four types of functional wet cans for companion cats, "Nutri Plan Health Project," featuring characters from "Ppojjatoon."

Daum Webtoon is a company-in-company (CIC) within Kakao Page, which started the first webtoon service among domestic portals in 2003. It is a webtoon platform with over 500 secondary works based on Daum Webtoon's original works, including videos, characters, and books.

"Ppojjatoon" is a webtoon depicting the daily life of an author living with a companion cat. It is loved by pet owners for its delicate portrayal of cats and relatable stories. It currently ranks first in popularity within Daum Webtoon's pet category, and Ppojjatoon characters are popular enough to be released as various products such as diaries, calendars, and emoticons.

The four types of Nutri Plan Health Project feature three Ppojjatoon characters (Poby, Bonggu, Kkongji) each illustrated on the can design, with four different designs showing various expressions per product. Among them, the "Weight Control & Joints" product attracted great interest from pet owners even before its release, as consumers participated in a survey on Nutri Plan's official social network service (SNS) and the author's SNS to select the character to be included in the design.

The four types of Nutri Plan Health Project are functional cans that support gut health, skin health, weight control, and immunity. They are mainly made with tuna, rich in taurine, an essential amino acid for cats, and contain various nutritional ingredients such as red ginseng, which helps boost immunity, and inulin, which aids gut health and improves bowel conditions.
