[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) is operating the ‘Social Economy Business Planning Academy’ for representatives and practitioners of social economy organizations.
This program will be held from August 18 to September 25 at the ‘Dongjak-gu Social Economy Support Center Seminar Room’ located in Noryangjin-dong, and is designed to strengthen the management capabilities and networks of social economy enterprises.
The training, conducted by Kim Jae-chun, head of the Value-Mixed Management Research Institute, will cover ▲ how to write proposals for public projects ▲ business planning methods for public projects ▲ practical writing exercises in areas such as social mission, business, and social entrepreneurship ▲ and consulting on writing public project proposals.
In particular, to prevent COVID-19 infection, participants will be required to sanitize their hands and undergo temperature checks beforehand, and a safe educational environment will be maintained by keeping a distance of more than 2 meters between educators.
Those wishing to participate can apply through the district office website and the Dongjak-gu Social Economy Support blog by July 31. The number of participants will be limited to 15, with priority given to representatives and practitioners of social economy organizations within the region.
Additionally, until December, the ‘Resident Company Steering Committee’ will select monthly themes to strengthen the network of 20 resident companies at the Social Economy Support Center, promoting activities such as social economy cultural events and exploring local social economy initiatives.

Meanwhile, the district is implementing emergency economic support policies with its budget to assist small business owners struggling due to COVID-19, including ▲ emergency livelihood stabilization funds ▲ interest-free loans from the Small and Medium Business Development Fund ▲ management preservation funds for Dongjak Love Gift Certificate affiliated stores ▲ and support funds for the closure of multi-use facilities.
Kim Jeong-won, head of the Economic Promotion Division, stated, "The role of social economy enterprises, which aim to improve the welfare of social members, is becoming increasingly important amid the COVID-19 economic crisis. Through this program, we will strengthen the competitiveness of social economy enterprises and work together to resolve economic crises and local issues."
