[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Naver Business Platform (NBP) announced on the 23rd that it will launch 'Neurocloud,' a new concept hybrid cloud service.
Neurocloud is a 'Cloud as a Service' (CaaS) prepared by NBP.
When corporate customers adopt Neurocloud, the public cloud Naver Cloud Platform (NCP) and the company's own cloud environment are organically connected to build a hybrid cloud. Dedicated hardware is installed in the customer's computer room or data center, making that area a single region.
Neurocloud offers two types of hardware tailored to the customer's physical situation.
For customers who already have a data center or computer room, a rack type is provided, and for customers without a separate computing space, a container-type data center equipped with 8 racks as well as air conditioning and electrical facilities is provided as a whole.
NBP held an online media day on the same day to introduce the advantages of Neurocloud.
Senior Manager Lee Eun-su of NBP said, "Neurocloud is suitable for financial companies where computer security is important, public institutions that need to increase data center utilization, large corporations with many affiliates, manufacturing companies that need to reduce network latency, and research institutes or defense agencies where security is critical."
In response to the question, "What differentiates you from foreign cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Oracle, which have dominated the domestic market?" Senior Manager Lee replied, "Others provide solutions, but we sell the cloud platform itself as CaaS," adding, "Customers can selectively choose the services they need."
Executive Director Han Sang-young of NBP responded to the question, "What differentiates you from other native clouds like Kakao and KT?" by saying, "NBP installed six global regions from the beginning with global expansion in mind and has entered the business stabilization phase," adding, "We are promoting global expansion based on a stable platform."
When asked about the domestic market share target, Executive Director Han said, "Just as Naver protected the domestic search market from Google, we are striving to be number one in the cloud market as well."
