Seongbuk-gu, Up to 30% Discount on Public Transportation with Metropolitan Altteul Transportation Card Participation

Mileage Accumulation (Up to 20%) and Additional Card Company Discount (10%)

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is set to fully implement the 'Metropolitan Discount Transportation Card' project to reduce the transportation costs for citizens using public transportation and to promote the use of public transit.

The Metropolitan Discount Transportation Card accumulates mileage (up to 20%) proportional to the distance traveled on foot or by bicycle when using public transportation, and also offers an additional 10% discount from the card company, allowing users to save up to 30% on public transportation costs.

Any citizen aged 18 or older with a Seoul address can apply for the card. After applying for card issuance on the Metropolitan Discount Transportation Card website, users can download the app on their smartphones, register as members, and start using it.

Mileage is awarded when public transportation is used 15 times or more per month, and the accumulated mileage can be used to pay for public transportation fares.

Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, stated, “This project allows residents to save on transportation costs during the difficult times of COVID-19 and also contributes to a green environment. I hope many residents use it and benefit from it.”
