The Ministry of Economy and Finance had pre-distributed the press release via email to the press corps on the 20th, based on an embargo (news release delay) set for 2 p.m. on the day the Tax System Development Deliberation Committee was held. However, this material was leaked externally and posted without permission on a personal blog.

The Ministry explained, "To identify the circumstances of the leak and the leaker, we promptly requested an investigation from the Sejong Regional Police Agency on the afternoon of the 21st."

In this regard, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Hong Nam-ki instructed, "Thoroughly investigate the pre-distributor and the circumstances of the leak to ensure strong countermeasures are taken."
