[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Gmarket and Auction, operated by eBay Korea, announced on the 22nd that they will hold a promotion to expand the use of the ‘Youth Startup Farmer Voucher’.
The ‘Youth Startup Farmer Voucher’ is provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, which selects young farmers every year to support the funds necessary for stabilizing their early farming life. It is issued in the form of a voucher card. Since last year, Gmarket and Auction have also offered payment services that allow the use of this voucher to purchase various supplies.
Accordingly, various items can be purchased, including agricultural supplies, various foods to maintain the health of young farmers, electronic products that help work comfortably even in the hot summer, and baby and children’s products that reduce childcare burdens. For payment, click BC Card in the payment methods and then select ‘Voucher Payment (Youth Startup Farmer)’.
This promotion was prepared to support the increasing number of young farmers recently and to revitalize the online traditional market section. When purchasing products worth more than 10,000 KRW with the ‘Youth Startup Farmer Voucher’ in the traditional market section of Gmarket and Auction, an additional 20,000 KRW ‘Onnuri Mobile Gift Certificate’ will be given. The benefit is provided to a total of 500 people on a first-come, first-served basis, 250 people each from Gmarket and Auction.
More detailed event information can be found by searching ‘Youth Startup Farmer’ on Gmarket and Auction respectively.
Lee Eunhee, Manager of Business Development at eBay Korea, said, “We prepared the voucher card payment event within the traditional market section to support young people’s settlement in farming and to add vitality to traditional markets,” adding, “Although it is a difficult time for everyone due to COVID-19, we hope to overcome it healthily by helping each other.”
