[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Jangheung Office of Education announced on the 20th that it will operate the ‘Jangheung Donghak Peasant Revolution Program’ to inherit the literary tradition in connection with local literary figures.

This event involves learning about the Jangheung Donghak Peasant Revolution and creating and installing Donghak site signboards. It will be held three times over two months since last month at Jangheung Elementary School and Anyang Middle School.

The content is based on research materials from the Jangheung Donghak Peasant Revolution Memorial Project Association and includes ▲ the background and development process of the Jangheung Donghak Peasant Revolution ▲ key figures and locations of the Jangheung Donghak Peasant Revolution ▲ exploring Donghak sites centered around schools.

Superintendent Wang Myeong-seok said, “By having students visit the figures and locations of the Jangheung Donghak Peasant Revolution and create and install signboards, it has become an opportunity for them to take an interest in Jangheung’s history and enhance pride in their hometown, as well as to learn about the Donghak sites in Jangheung.” He added, “We will continue to support history education about our hometown without hesitation.”
