To discover talented individuals with outstanding development skills and growth potential, all applicants will compete through a coding test without any document screening.
On the same day, Toss announced the '2020 Toss Next Developer Recruitment' and started open recruitment for developers with less than 3 years of experience. Any developer with less than 3 years of experience who wants to grow together with Toss can apply.
The recruitment fields include six areas: ▲Frontend ▲iOS ▲Android ▲Server ▲Full Stack ▲Data Engineering, with plans to hire up to 20 developers. Server developers for Toss Payments, scheduled to launch in August, will also be recruited.
Previously, Toss mainly conducted occasional recruitment for experienced developers, but this open recruitment has fully opened the door to developers with less than 3 years of experience, including fresh graduates. This aims to lower the psychological barriers for applicants with relatively short experience and prioritize development skills over academic background or experience during the hiring evaluation.
To this end, this Toss open recruitment has eliminated the document screening process, allowing all applicants to demonstrate their skills through a coding test. Applications with only simple personal information will be accepted for ten days until the 29th, and an online coding test will be conducted for all applicants in early August.
Only those who pass the coding test will be asked to submit documents necessary for interviews, such as resumes and portfolios, and final candidates will be selected through first and second interviews. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, all interviews will be conducted via video calls. The final successful candidates are expected to join in September.
According to Toss's hiring policy, new hires will be offered up to 1.5 times their previous annual salary, and additionally, stock options worth approximately 100 million KRW or a signing bonus meeting certain criteria will be provided. Even fresh graduates without prior work experience will be guaranteed industry-leading treatment. Cash welfare benefits beyond salary, such as performance bonuses, fitness expenses, congratulatory and condolence allowances, and meal allowances, will also be provided.
A Toss recruitment official said, “We are conducting this open recruitment to find talented developers who may have been overlooked in the existing hiring process,” and added, “We look forward to many young developers who want to proactively develop and operate services that provide the best experience to 17 million Toss users.”
