Two New Models Added to Serving Robot 'DillyPlate' Lineup

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Baedal Minjok, which launched an autonomous serving robot rental program last November, has strengthened its lineup by adding two new robot models.

Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal Minjok, announced on the 20th that it will expand its serving robot rental program, which was previously operated with a single model, to a total of three models by adding two new robots. The newly added robots are the premium model 'Dilly Plate L01,' which has fewer installation environment restrictions and a larger loading capacity, and the 'Dilly Plate K01,' which is suitable for serving in cafes or small restaurants.

The Dilly Plate L01 is a new serving robot developed by LG Electronics and custom-made for Baedal Minjok to supply to general restaurants. Compared to existing serving robots, it features advanced autonomous driving capabilities, requiring no additional installations for robot navigation within stores, and is highly rated for its speed control and obstacle avoidance functions due to sophisticated sensor design. The robot body is equipped with a total of four trays, allowing it to serve more than ten side dishes and meals for four people at once without difficulty. It also includes an automatic battery charging function, eliminating the need to worry about battery charging during store operations.

The Dilly Plate K01 is a serving robot specialized for cafes selling beverages or desserts and small restaurants with fewer side dishes or single-menu offerings. Although it carries fewer menu items at once, it is designed to serve smoothly even in places with narrow table spacing. This robot also supports automatic charging functionality.

Woowa Brothers' Dilly Plate rental program includes robot rental, regular maintenance, and business liability insurance. In particular, it provides robot solution consulting tailored to the business before introduction and offers frequent management after robot installation. To commemorate the launch of the new lineup, Woowa Brothers plans to waive rental fees for three months for those who subscribe to the rental program by the end of August.

Kim Yo-seop, head of the Robot Business Division at Woowa Brothers, said, "Since launching the first rental program supplying serving robots to general restaurants in Korea last November, a total of 65 Dilly Plates are currently serving in 48 restaurants nationwide. We plan to continuously add new lineup models so that more restaurants can conveniently use serving robots, aiming to supply 300 units by the end of the year."
