[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] Bang Moon-kyu, President of the Export-Import Bank of Korea, visited small and medium-sized enterprises in the materials, parts, and equipment industry located in Cheongju, Chungbuk, to strengthen support and communication in the sector.


The Export-Import Bank of Korea announced on the 19th that President Bang visited M-Plus, a company specializing in automation equipment for secondary battery assembly processes located in Cheongju, Chungbuk, on the afternoon of the 17th, to listen to the difficulties faced by the related industry.


M-Plus is a materials, parts, and equipment company that mainly manufactures and exports automation equipment for pouch-type secondary battery assembly processes used in electric vehicles.


At the meeting, Kim Jong-sung, CEO of M-Plus, said, “Global demand for secondary batteries for automobiles is expected to expand,” adding, “Active financial support for technology development is necessary to grow into a global company.”


In response, President Bang emphasized, “We will do our best to ensure that funds needed at each export stage, such as R&D funds for securing core technologies of Korea’s small and medium-sized enterprises, facility investment funds, production funds required for exports, and performance guarantees, are smoothly supported.”
