'Year-Round Live' Shin Hyun-jun's Former Manager "Received Salary Based on Mood... Hopes for Disclosure of Payment Details"

[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] Former manager Kim, who accused actor Shin Hyun-joon of power abuse, shared his position through a broadcast.

On the night of the 17th, KBS2 variety show 'Year-round Live' aired an interview with the former manager who claimed Shin Hyun-joon's power abuse.

Previously, Kim, who was Shin Hyun-joon's former manager and friend, claimed that he endured verbal abuse and unfair treatment from Shin Hyun-joon for 13 years, receiving only 600,000 KRW per month during the first two years of work. He also revealed that the verbally promised 9 to 1 profit sharing was not properly honored, and that he was forced by Shin Hyun-joon's biological mother to perform personal tasks such as driving and car washing outside of work duties.

Kim stated the reason for appearing on 'Year-round Live' was, "There were too many speculations and falsehoods, so after much consideration, I came out to share my feelings."

Regarding why he is revealing events from 6 to 7 years ago now, he said, "I had left the industry and was living a different life, but I heard rumors that I took all of Shin Hyun-joon's money and ran away. I have never directly received money from the actor Shin Hyun-joon. The 25 years of friendship shocked me. I stood here to clarify the truth as my 25 years in management were being denied."

About his financial relationship with Shin Hyun-joon, Kim claimed, "He kept giving me false hope, saying he would take care of me if I did well. In 2001, a major agency offered me a contract. Shin Hyun-joon refused, and after that, he received 400 million KRW including my share. He joined the major agency himself and told me to join as a manager, which made me feel ashamed." Shin Hyun-joon's legal representative denied these claims as untrue.

Kim also said, "In 2017, there was a lawsuit between me and Lee Kwan-yong (then Shin Hyun-joon's manager). Lee sued me for embezzlement. It was so absurd that I kept calling Shin Hyun-joon, asking 'What is this?', 'Do you know about the lawsuit?', 'Please help resolve this through conversation.' Because we are friends. But Shin Hyun-joon did not answer the calls. The last message I received was this. That one message ended my relationship with that friend."

The released message read, "Don't drag me into the issue between you and Kwan-yong. Solve it between yourselves. I'm also in a difficult position in the middle."

On the other hand, former manager Lee Kwan-yong responded, "I think Hyun-joon was very considerate towards Kim. Why? Because they were friends, they agreed to receive 10% each without a contract. He accepted and took the money, so why is he now saying he didn't receive it?"

He continued, "The exact fact is that Shin Hyun-joon paid for stylist, hair, makeup, fuel, meals, and so on himself. Instead, Shin Hyun-joon gave money to Kim. But when salaries were not paid, the manager friends left. Shin Hyun-joon gave all the money. Kim took the money in the middle," he rebutted.

Regarding these claims, Kim said, "I hope Shin Hyun-joon discloses the details of what he gave me. If he gave me money, it is right to disclose it. They say payments were made per case, but they gave money as they pleased. At the time, I endured and sacrificed, but in the end, Hyun-joon made me look like a morally wrong person," he lamented.
