[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation) announced on the 17th that it conducted experiential training to strengthen safety awareness for executives at the department head level and above.
The training, held on the 16th at a safety experience school in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, focused on practical exercises such as escaping from confined spaces during fires that may occur at construction sites, fall experience through openings, safety belt wearing practice, and virtual reality (VR) experience of temporary passageways.
SH Corporation recently implemented field-centered safety education involving direct participation of employees, such as fall accident prevention and VR-based experiential training, to join efforts in establishing fundamental solutions for reducing construction accidents, in line with the government’s recently announced construction safety innovation measures and guidelines on safety management for public institutions.
Kang Sung-min, Head of Disaster Safety Office at SH Corporation, said, “Through this experiential training, we hope that managers will take the lead in accurately recognizing and practicing the importance of safety facilities and personal protective equipment.” He added, “In the fourth quarter, we plan to expand the safety experiential training to include not only executives but also general employees.”
