Mayor Chae asked the newly formed human rights committee members to serve as watchdogs and advisors, ensuring that no one is marginalized in current projects such as the maintenance of jjokbangchon (small room villages) and street vendors, and to provide guidance in the right direction.

He also took the time to promise to create a human rights-centered city where human rights are alive.
