[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Ulsan Ulju-gun Childcare Comprehensive Support Center is conducting a pop-up book making project as a non-face-to-face event at the picture book library in a situation where outdoor activities are difficult due to COVID-19.

Pop-up book making is an upcycling activity where participants create their own stories using damaged picture books to make and manipulate their own pop-up books. This program was prepared to enhance young children's self-esteem, improve awareness of resource circulation, and raise interest in environmental protection.

Applications are accepted from the 17th to the 21st on the center's website, limited to the first 40 families. Applicants will receive online lecture materials on the Ulju-gun Childcare Comprehensive Support Center YouTube channel and a pop-up book making kit.

Picture book junk artist and Pop-up Playground CEO An Seon-hwa, who is in charge of the pop-up book making lecture, is the author of "Pop-up Book Making: Old Picture Books Reborn" and an expert who has been running Pop-up Playground at schools and libraries for over 10 years, providing distinctive education.

The director of Ulju-gun Childcare Comprehensive Support Center said, “I hope this will be a precious time for children and parents to discover new joy through picture books by making their own pop-up books together.”
