[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] Administrative authorities who launched an investigation after receiving reports that larvae were found in tap water on Yeongjongdo Island in Incheon estimated that the larvae were likely introduced from outside.
According to the Jungbu Waterworks Office of Incheon City on the 16th, a resident of an apartment in Unseo-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon City posted on a local mom cafe that "I caught larvae in the washbasin after washing."
Accordingly, the office inspected the water storage tanks and pipes inside the apartment, considering the possibility that larvae might have occurred in the internal water tanks, but confirmed that there were no problems.
Also, since the resident who found the larvae lives on the first floor, the office judged that it was more likely that insects entered from outside rather than a tap water issue.
