[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 16th that it will transform the KB Soho Consulting Center, which has focused on supporting the business competitiveness of self-employed individuals in the COVID-19 era, into a crisis management-centered consulting support system.

Launched in September 2016 as the first of its kind in the banking sector, the KB Soho Consulting Center provides free management consulting in various fields such as financing, taxation, and legal matters to strengthen the business competitiveness of self-employed individuals. Currently, a total of 13 centers are operating nationwide, including the Yeouido HUB Center and major metropolitan areas in the Seoul metropolitan area.

The main features of this crisis management-centered consulting support system include ▲ providing on-site education programs ▲ offering precise commercial district and industry analysis consulting based on big data reflecting KB Kookmin Card sales information and KB real estate market prices ▲ expanding the video consultation system that provides real-time expert in-depth consulting ▲ strengthening non-face-to-face consulting using KB Bridge, a policy fund recommendation platform ▲ and building and supporting non-face-to-face sales channels through KB Kookmin Bank's 'SNS Consulting.'

As part of the on-site education program, KB Kookmin Bank held the launch ceremony of the 'On-site KB Soho Mentoring School (3rd term)' on the same day. This event was sponsored by the Financial Supervisory Service and jointly hosted with the Korea Foodservice Industry Association. The on-site education program departs from the traditional group education for self-employed individuals by having mentors visit business sites directly to provide customized solutions based on specific needs.

The event was attended by Yoon Seok-heon, Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service; Hur In, President of KB Kookmin Bank; Kwon Oh-bok, Executive Vice Chairman of the Korea Foodservice Industry Association; Lee Hyung-seok, Director; Chef Tonio; Chef Cha Min-wook; Chef Kim Soon-tae; and other mentors.

Governor Yoon encouraged the efforts of KB Kookmin Bank employees, stating, "We will continue to promote beautiful win-win cooperation like KB Kookmin Bank so that it can be a great support to self-employed individuals facing difficulties."

President Hur emphasized, "We will do our best to provide great support to small business owners and self-employed individuals through crisis management-centered consulting support utilizing the 13 KB Soho Consulting Centers nationwide."

Applications for participation in the 'On-site KB Soho Mentoring School (3rd term)' program can be made through the Korea Foodservice Industry Association.
