[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Kim Kyung-soo, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 15th that he visited the Romansys Chilseo Factory located in the Chilseo General Industrial Complex in Haman to attend a commemorative ceremony celebrating the shipment of the first batch of 10 locomotives for export to Bangladesh.

About 300 people attended the event, including Governor Kim Kyung-soo, Kim Ha-yong, Chairman of the Gyeongnam Provincial Council, Jo Geun-je, Mayor of Haman County, and Lee Yong-bae, President of Hyundai Rotem.

The ceremony proceeded with a locomotive shipment performance, presentation of appreciation plaques, commemorative photos, and locomotive test rides and viewing.

Romansys is a company that signed an investment agreement with Gyeongnam Province and Haman County at the "Gyeongsangnam-do Metropolitan Area Company Investment Attraction Briefing" held at the 63 Convention Center in Seoul on October 2, 2018.

After the agreement, Romansys executed its investment in 2019, settled in the Chilseo Industrial Complex, secured production volume from Hyundai Rotem, and reached the milestone of the first shipment on this day. Gyeongnam Province's investment attraction resulted in actual investment of 65 billion KRW and employment of 130 people.

In addition to Bangladesh, Romansys is producing 85 units for export to Australia, 123 tram sets for export to Poland, and 180 units for domestic use (KORAIL), and the remaining 20 units for export to Bangladesh will be delivered by 2021.

Governor Kim said, "Not only the initial shipment to Bangladesh but also export volumes secured for countries around the world such as Australia and Poland will greatly help not only the economy of Haman but also the economy of Gyeongnam Province," welcoming the development.
