Korea Sound Culture Hall, Exhibition of Middle-Aged Women’s Ballet Challenge

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Geon-ju] The Korean Sound Culture Hall in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, will hold an archive exhibition of the art education program ‘Autobiography Written with Ballet’ on the 3rd floor of the exhibition hall at 2 p.m. on the 18th.

‘Autobiography Written with Ballet’ is a program aimed at middle-aged and older women, encouraging them to explore their present selves and gain the courage to challenge a new life by engaging in ballet activities and writing a one-line autobiography.

This archive exhibition is a presentation of the results accumulated so far, including ballet activities practiced twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays since last June, photos, and one-line autobiographies.

Ban Seok-ran, the oldest trainee at 65 years old who participated in the class, said, “My body doesn’t follow well, but it was a blessing to learn and do ballet together with many people,” adding, “Even after the class ends, I plan to continue learning ballet as a hobby.”

Jang Nang-ju, the instructor teaching the women, said, “Life has been very frustrating due to COVID-19, but this has become a source of vitality,” and added, “Although we are in our 50s and 60s, we are beautiful women dreaming, and I want to do my best until the end.”

The Sound Culture Hall plans to approach residents closely with various art education programs.
