[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] Samsung Electronics announced on the 16th that it will launch a new 17kg dryer, the largest capacity in Korea, on the 17th. They diversified their lineup by adding the 17kg capacity to the Grande Dryer AI (14kg and 16kg) released in January.
With the new 17kg dryer, Samsung Electronics has received the highest energy efficiency grade 1 for all capacities (9kg, 14kg, 16kg, and 17kg), making it the only brand in Korea to achieve this.
The new Grande Dryer AI 17kg model, with the largest capacity in Korea, can comfortably dry large super king-size blankets. It features an added 'Hot Air Internal Sterilization' function that thoroughly dries the interior, and drying time has also been shortened.
As the capacity increased, the performance of the 'Lifter,' which rotates laundry to aid smooth drying, and the turbo fan that generates airflow, have been enhanced for efficient drying.
When using the hot air internal sterilization course, the hot air dries moisture that may remain on the invisible back of the drum, fan, heat exchanger, and other parts, allowing for more hygienic dryer management. It is explained that after using this course, more than 99.9% of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli inside the dryer are sterilized.
The new product will be available in three colors: Greige, Black, and Inox, with a retail price ranging from 2,099,000 KRW to 2,149,000 KRW.
To commemorate the launch, Samsung Electronics will offer benefits worth approximately 1.3 million KRW to customers who purchase both the Grande AI maximum capacity grade 1 package (24kg washing machine, 17kg dryer) and the AirDresser simultaneously from the 17th until the end of July.
Lee Dallae, Executive Director of Samsung Electronics' Home Appliance Business Division, said, "Samsung Electronics dryers have achieved energy efficiency grade 1 for all capacities, expanding product choices for consumers who care about energy savings," adding, "We will continue to improve consumers' clothing care experience by incorporating innovative technologies."
